Job Title: Construction Manager – Civil Engineer (Steel Structure & Finishing Works)

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager (Civil Engineer) with proven expertise in steel structures and architectural finishing works. The role involves leading, coordinating, and supervising construction activities across large-scale projects, ensuring safe, timely, and high-quality delivery in line with project specifications and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution

- Develop and monitor execution plans for steel structure erection and finishing works.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and client requirements.
- Plan site logistics, work sequencing, and allocate resources effectively.
Site Management

- Supervise daily site activities including fabrication, erection, alignment, welding, painting, and fireproofing.
- Manage finishing trades: blockwork, plastering, flooring, cladding, ceilings, painting, doors, and architectural details.
- Oversee subcontractors’ performance, productivity, and compliance.
Technical Oversight

- Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, ITPs, and material submittals.
- Provide engineering solutions to resolve technical challenges.
- Coordinate with design teams, consultants, and QA/QC engineers.
Quality, Safety & Compliance

- Enforce QA/QC procedures and compliance with ISO, ASTM, AISC, and other codes.
- Ensure site safety protocols are implemented and maintained.
- Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions promptly.
Stakeholder Coordination

- Act as key interface with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Attend progress meetings, prepare status reports, and escalate risks.
- Coordinate steel structure activities with MEP and architectural trades.
Commercial & Contractual

- Support project controls in monitoring budgets, quantities, and progress claims.
- Participate in procurement planning, supplier evaluation, and material approval.
- Provide inputs for variations, value engineering, and cost optimization.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of construction experience, with at least 5 years in steel structures & finishing works.
- Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, erection methods, welding, and international codes (AISC, AWS, BS, Eurocodes).
- Proven track record managing finishing packages in large commercial, industrial, or residential projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, AutoCAD; experience with Tekla/Revit is an advantage.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and timely delivery.
Reporting & Work Environment
- Reports directly to Project Director / Construction Director.
- Based primarily at project sites with regular coordination at head office.
- Requires strong site presence and frequent stakeholder engagement.
